Is the Marpac TSCI-330 Travel Sound Conditioner worth the money?
At around the $75 mark, the Marpac Travel Sound Conditioner is a little bit expensive, so is it really worth the money? Well the important feature of this sound machine is that it is designed for international travelers, so it has a dual voltage transformer and four plug adapters for use almost anywhere in the world.
This means that you don’t need to buy a different adapter for every country you visit, and you can simply take your trusty Marpac sound machine with you on your overseas trips.
FYI: The Marpac TSCI-330 is also known as the Marsona and it is identical to the Marpac Zohne, in fact Zohne is just the new name for the Marsona.

Features of the Marpac TSCI-330 Travel Sound Conditioner
The Marpac TSCI-330 (Marsona) travel sound conditioner uses solid state technology to create white noise. In fact it only creates white noise, but it also lets you modulate this white noise to add in the sounds of rainfall, waterfalls or surf.
The Marsona does not have a motor and a fan to create its sounds (like the Marpac DOHM), but even so, if there is looping involved, you can’t hear it, because the quality of the sounds is so good.
In fact, the sound from this small sound machine is as good as – if not better than many other full sized sound machines.
With this sound machine you have an ON/OFF switch, but you don’t have a timer, so once it is operating you will have to manually turn it off, which is not a problem. You also have a sliding volume control which gives you a good range of low to high volumes and it is very easy to use.
The best feature of this sound machine (apart from being made by Marpac) is that it is designed for international travelers, so you don’t need lots of different adapters, as it can operate on different voltages. Customers have used it all over Europe, Asia and the UK, and with its compact size, this is a very handy sleep sound machine to have in your luggage.
How do you use the Marpac travel sound conditioner?
This sound machine is very easy to use. All you need to do is to plug it into a power outlet, turn it on and decide what type of sound you want.
There is a slider for the volume and the type of sound, and the more you slide it along the greater the difference in the sounds.
All of the sounds are based on white noise, but you can overlay the white noise with waterfall, rainfall or surf sounds, creating a variety of white noise based sounds. If you love the sound of white noise when you sleep, then the Marsona gives you a lot more choices in the white noise sounds than the Marpac DOHM.
What do customers say about the Marpac TSCI-330?
Customers love that this sound machine is really light and compact, so it fits in their suitcase easily. They also like the different white noise options and that if you turn the volume up high, it is really loud!
Love this product. It’s great for cancelling excessive noise from the traffic in my area.
I have taken it to Italy and Hawaii and it will soon be going to New England.
This is a long-lasting piece of Hardware that works well and is fully satisfied I am glad I bought a second one.
This product has help me to sleep in a very noisy apartment building.
Small enough for travel and has lots of sound variations to allow for the right tone.
Great adjustable sound and no annoying, repeating sound “loop”.
Should you buy the Marpac TSCI-330 Travel Sound Conditioner?
If you already have the Marpac DOHM at home and you are heading off overseas, then this is a lot lighter and easier to pack than the original sound machine.
You can play white noise on its own, just as you can with the DOHM, but the sound is slightly different because it is electronically produced, rather than created using a fan and motor, as in the DOHM.
Don’t forget that this sound machine has a dual voltage transformer, so it can be used all over the world and you don’t need to buy a different adapter for everywhere you go.
If you haven’t used the Marpac DOHM, but are interested in using white noise to help you sleep, then this is a great place to start, because you can modulate the white noise and customize it to suit your needs.
Of course, if you are traveling overseas and want a sleep sound machine to help you sleep in strange surroundings or noisy environments, then the Marpac TSCI-330 ticks all of the boxes. This is not a cheap plastic unit with scratchy electronic sounds, this is made by Marpac who are well-known for the quality of their sound machines.
